Conducting Internship Program

The Conductor Internship program is a unique opportunity for those interested in further developing their conducting skills, to work with the Edmonton Youth Orchestra Association’s two orchestras (Intermediate and Senior) under the tutelage of the EYO's longstanding Music Director and Conductor, Mr. Michael Massey.
The successful applicant will receive valuable instruction in technique and musical leadership. They will learn practically through observing, coaching and conducting.
The intern is expected to attend and assist with all rehearsals from November 29, 2023 to March 3, 2024.
Rehearsals take place in Rm 1-23 of the Fine Arts Building, University of Alberta.

Intermediate Youth Orchestra rehearsals - Wednesday evenings (6:30 to 9 pm). No rehearsals December 20, 27, 2023 & January 3, 2024.

Senior Youth Orchestra rehearsals - Saturday mornings (9 am to 12:30 pm). No rehearsals December 23, 30, 2023 and January 6, 2024.
A bursary of $1,000 to be provided.
